useletter-header

Hi! I'm Michael.

Welcome to this week's useletter.
The newsletter that's useful. Focussed on your future not my past.
Dear loyal reader

Right now everyone is making lists
best of the year
most popular of the year
and discoveries of the year.
(plus my daughter's home made Christmas card list!)

Who am I to argue against trope?

As I was reviewing my most visited posts this year, I noticed they weren’t the ones that people had spent the most time reading. Albeit with some correlation.

But
whilst the posts with the most click throughs - because they have a provocative title, or because they match popular search terms - might be of passing interest, they’re hardly a metric of value.

So instead of my most visited, I’m publishing here my most read. I’m trusting they're the most useful and will prove be useful reading for you over the holidays.

Finally and importantly…
I would like to thank you for your time and attention over the past year. Whilst I do my best to write something of interest or of use, I don’t take for granted that it'll be read. I’m grateful you keep showing up to read and engage with what I have to say.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday break.
May it be restful, joyful, and all that you need and desire.
You deserve it.

I got you.

PS: I’ll be taking an extended pause from all things unmeasured over much of January. Looking forward to reconnecting with you in the new year.

Seeking humility

Here's my posts (in reverse chronological order of writing) that people spent the most time reading in 2024. I can only assume they resonated in some way or were useful. I trust you'll find one or more amongst them all of interest and/or helpful.

What choosing yourself looks like

If I could go back 35 years to give myself some advice, it would be “Don’t wait to be chosen. Choose yourself.”
